What filming in D-Log does for me

What we see here are two screenshots of construction progress footage: one in D-Log and one post-production. Filming in RAW captures minimally processed sensor data and provides some flexibility in post-production. And that might be perfect for some clients.

However, D-Log records a flat image that preserves more highlight and shadow detail than a standard profile while keeping file sizes and workflow manageable. This gives me more control during color grading, especially in challenging lighting with bright skies, concrete, and deep shadows.

If a client intends to use my footage for promotional purposes—an edited, post-production product—I always film in D-Log to maintain a consistent, professional look from shoot to shoot.
